Ernst Ludwig Maukisch (born December 11, 1805 in Ulberndorf , † November 1, 1865 in Potschappel ) was a German lawyer and politician . He was a member of the Frankfurt National Assembly and a member of the Saxon state parliament .

Live and act

The son of the lawyer Julius Fürchtegott Maukisch and his wife Christiana Sophia geb. Hauswald studied from 1825 to 1827 at the University of Leipzig the law . There he joined the Leipzig fraternity in 1826 . After completing his studies, he became an accessist in Pesterwitz in 1827 . In 1832 he was elected mayor of Dippoldiswalde, where he had settled as a lawyer, an office which he held until 1850.

He belonged to the second chamber of the Saxon state parliament in 1848 as a member of the 7th municipal constituency and in 1849/50 as a representative of the 66th electoral district. In the 17th Saxon electoral district (Frauenstein) he was elected as a candidate for the Fatherland Association on May 5, 1848 in the first ballot with 67 out of 99 votes to replace Otto Leonhard Heubner , who was elected to the Frankfurt National Assembly . He performed his mandate from February 27 to May 30, 1849. He was a moderate liberal and joined the Westendhall faction . He also took part in the Gotha post-parliament .

On May uprising in Dresden Maukisch was not directly involved. But since he had helped several persecuted people to escape, he was induced to resign his mayor's office in Dippoldiswalde. He received no confirmation from the Saxon government for an election that would later fall on him. In 1859 he moved to the city council of Dippoldiswalde, but in 1863 he moved to Potschappel.
