Ernst Mohr (born October 14, 1895 in Elmshorn ; † December 26, 1974 in Meldorf ) was a German Evangelical Lutheran pastor and provost . He was a member of the Confessing Church .

Life

After studying theology and doing his doctorate with distinction at the University of Gießen , Mohr was pastor at the monastery church in Uetersen from 1923 to 1927 and lived in the pastorate there . Then he became a pastor in Flensburg. In 1936 he was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein regional church committee and in 1945 commissioner for the regional church aid organization . In 1949 Mohr became provost of Süderdithmarschen and pastor at Meldorfer Dom in Meldorf . In 1962, he was due to age emeritus and retired.

On Palm Sunday (March 20, 1937), Ernst Mohr carried out the Mölln emergency confirmation for 163 Lübeck confirmands , with the participation of the Möllner pastors , whose nine Lübeck pastors were forbidden to continue their office in January 1937 after they had joined the Confessing Church.

His son was the regional church music director Peter Mohr (1924–1989).

The church archive of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Northern Germany in Kiel keeps part of the estate with correspondence on the church struggle .
