Ernst Ossian Soravuo

Ernst Ossian Soravuo e. Sandström CBE (born December 3, 1904 in Viipuri , † October 2, 1994 in Helsinki ) was a Finnish diplomat .

Soravuo studied at the University of Helsinki and married Elsa Annikki Waldén in 1934. He joined the foreign service in 1929. From 1929 to 1931 he was an attaché in Buenos Aires. From 1931 to 1932 he was accredited in Berlin. From 1932 to 1933 he was employed in the Foreign Ministry. From 1935 to 1939 he was accredited in Paris. From 1939 to 1942 he was counselor in Stockholm. From 1942 to 1944 he was employed in a leading position in Helsinki. In 1944 he was accredited in Berlin. From 1944 to 1946 he headed the Commerce Department in the Foreign Ministry and later became Deputy Head of the Foreign Ministry. In 1946 he was chargé d'affaires in Paris. From 1947 to 1952 he was ambassador to Argentina , Chile and Uruguay . On May 6, 1952, he was accredited as Ambassador to the Court of St James’s at Buckingham Palace .
