Christa Müller

Christa Müller (* 1960 in Paderborn ) is a German sociologist.

Life

Christa Müller studied sociology in Bielefeld , Marburg and Seville. After doing field research in Costa Rica, Mexico and Westphalia , she completed her doctorate in 1997 at Bielefeld University on the integration of a Westphalian village into the global market. In 1998 she received the Schweisfurth Research Prize for Ecological Economy for her dissertation. In 1997 she founded the Institute for Theory and Practice of Subsistence together with others. In the following years she received teaching assignments at the universities of Innsbruck , Tübingen and other universities. She also works as a reviewer for scientific journals and for the BMBF and as a juror for the Kapp Research Prize for Ecological Economy. Christa Müller has been a member of the board of trustees of the Schweisfurth Foundation, a member of the supervisory board of the potato combine and a member of the scientific advisory board of the Sustainable Economy Yearbook since 2013.

On behalf of the Münchner Forschungsgesellschaft anstiftung , Christa Müller examined the Göttingen International Gardens for their socially integrative effects. Together with others, she subsequently built the network of intercultural and urban gardens , to which almost 600 projects have joined, and in 2002 the Interkultur Foundation , which she has headed ever since. Since 2007 she has been the managing director of the foundation anstiftung . In 2011, she also took on the task, the German edition of the originally formed in Toronto exhibition "The Productive City / Carrot City - Designing for Urban Agriculture" for the Technical University of Berlin and the Technical University of Munich to curate .
