Ernst Pöppel
Ernst Pöppel (born April 29, 1940 in Schwessin , Pomerania ) is a German psychologist .
Life
Pöppel studied psychology and biology at the Albert Ludwig University of Freiburg . He finally completed his habilitation in sensory physiology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and in psychology at the Leopold Franzens University in Innsbruck .
From 1976 to 2008 Pöppel was Professor of Medical Psychology at the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich and from 1991 to 1992 first chairman of the German Society for Medical Psychology . He has been a member of the Leopoldina since 1993 . In 2005 he was awarded the Bavarian Constitutional Medal in silver for his achievements . In 2015 he was elected to the Academia Europaea .
