Ernst Philipp Rosenkranz

Ernst Philipp Rosenkranz (born July 10, 1773 - † January 23, 1828 ) was a German piano maker .

He completed an apprenticeship as a piano maker with Heinrich Rudolf Mack in Dresden . In 1797 he opened his own workshop there . In 1826 he had Gottlob Friedrich Thormeyer build a city palace in Neustadt. After his death in 1828 he was succeeded by his son Friedrich Wilhelm Rosenkranz as managing director. Exports to North America, among others, gave the company a worldwide reputation.

Preserved instruments by Rosenkranz can be found in the musical instrument collection of the Germanic National Museum in Nuremberg and in the Salon Christophori in Berlin.
