Ernst Röhrig (born October 28, 1940 , † October 25, 2002 ) was a German football player . In the Bundesliga he was at Karlsruher SC in the 1964/65 season in nine league games as a defender.

Career

Röhrig already played in the youth department, and then in the amateur team of the blue-whites from the Wildpark Stadium . With teammates such as Gerhard Helm , Horst Hotz , Dieter Meinzer and Horst Saida , he had won the championship in the 2nd Amateur League Middle Baden, Season 1 in 1960/61 and then made the promotion to the 1st Amateur League North Baden in the promotion round. He continued to develop and in the last year of the old first-class soccer Oberliga Süd , 1962/63, made the leap into the top division team. He made his debut there in the 1962/63 season . On the 6th matchday he was set up by coach Kurt Sommerlatt against SSV Reutlingen , the game ended 2-2. At this point Röhrig was still on the left wing. On the next three game days against VfB Stuttgart (3: 2), SpVgg Fürth (2: 2) and VfR Mannheim (3: 0), coach Röhrig placed his trust, each as a left wing. In the further course of the season he did not get a chance, youth international Horst Wild scored eleven goals in 22 league appearances and also referred the other left winger Reinhold Nedoschil mostly to the bench. With 5th place in the final table, the KSC achieved one of the places for the newly introduced Bundesliga .

There Röhrig did not do anything in the first season of 1963/64, he has now been retrained as a defender. It was only in the 1964/65 season that he made his debut in the single-track first division, he played nine games. Röhrig made his debut at the start of the second half of the season on December 19, 1964, in a 1-1 away draw at Meidericher SV in the Bundesliga. Before goalkeeper Erich Wolf , he formed the defender pair with Reinhold Wischnowsky . In the other eight games he defended with his partners Dieter Klaußner and Peter Koßmann . His ninth and last Bundesliga game he played on April 30, 1965 in a 0-1 home defeat against Hertha BSC, where he had to do with their right wing Carl-Heinz Rühl in the majority of the duels . In the course of the round, coach Sommerlatt was replaced by Helmut Schneider and the KSC finished the round in 15th place. Since with Helmut Kafka and Walter Rauh reinforcements for the defense came to the wildlife park for the next season 1965/66, Röhrig had no serious chance of being deployed, since Jupp Marx had long since moved into the defense and with Eugen Ehmann a talent from his own ranks waited for the opportunity to work.

In later years Röhrig worked as a trainer in the North Baden amateur area.
