Ernst Roeder
Ernst Roeder (born March 17, 1862 in Schmelz (Saar) , district of Bettingen, † April 29, 1897 in Dresden ) was a German writer and editor . He occasionally used the name Rotteck, E (rnst) as a pseudonym .
Life
Philipp Ernst Roeder was the son of a forest clerk. He spent his childhood mainly with his grandparents in Hausbach near Losbach . After attending the secondary school in Saarlouis , he graduated from the trade school in Saarbrücken and finally studied economics, history and literary history in Dresden . After graduating, he temporarily worked in trade until he got a civil servant position in St. Louis (Alsace) . In the spring of 1883 Roeder moved back to Dresden, where he became editor of the magazine Deutsches Dichterheim , an organ for poetry and criticism . In 1886 he left this job and worked for the Dresdner Anzeiger and then for the new poetic sheets published by Edgar Pierson (1848-1919) . Until his death in the spring of 1897, Roeder was chairman of an "Association for the Care of Literature" founded in Dresden in 1886, the Litterarian Society , of which the poet Adele Osterloh (1857-1946) was a member.
Roeder was married to the Italian violin virtuoso Adelaide Milanollo, born on September 26, 1872 in Northern Italy . The artist had achieved notoriety, among other things, because she was allowed to play before Kaiser Wilhelm I in 1888 .
In July 1907, Adelaide Milanollo-Roeder gave up her position as a teacher at the Royal Saxon Conservatory . She married her brother-in-law, the engineer Julius Roeder, a brother of her deceased husband, and from September 1, 1907 no longer lived with him in Dresden, at Nürnberger Strasse 50, but in Bous (Saar) .
