Ernst Schlensker
Ernst Schlensker (born July 10, 1908 in Wattenscheid ; † February 22, 1978 ) was a German trade unionist, social democratic politician and district president in Arnsberg .
Schlensker joined the city administration of Wattenscheid in 1922 after finishing school.
Since 1922 he was a member of the Socialist Workers' Youth and since 1924 the SPD. In 1927 Schlensker was one of the founders of the Reich Union of German Municipal Officials.
At the beginning of the National Socialist rule he was dismissed for political reasons and worked from 1935 to 1942 as a commercial clerk. Between 1942 and 1946 he did military service or was in captivity.
In 1946 he rejoined the Wattenscheid municipal administration and was appointed city administrator in 1948. Also since 1946 he was a member of the ÖTV . From 1948 to 1954 he was chairman of the works council at the city administration in Wattenscheid.
As a directly elected MP for Wattenscheid, he was a member of the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia from 1950 to 1956 . There he resigned prematurely because he was appointed regional president in Arnsberg. Schlensker held this office until 1973.
