Ernst Theodor Haux

Ernst Theodor Haux (born March 11, 1863 in Reutlingen , † February 5, 1938 in Tübingen ) was a German industrial manager .

Life

Haux visited in Reutlingen and Stuttgart , the high school and then studied at Tübingen Eberhard Karls University political science . After the exam, she was employed as an accountant in Schorndorf . This was followed by a job in Stuttgart and at the royal Württemberg Ministry of Finance. On June 1, 1896, he moved to the board of directors of the Krupp company in Essen. As a result of a special relationship of trust, Friedrich Alfred Krupp appointed him in his will together with Gustav Hartmann as executor .

Between 1900 and 1918 Haux was active in local politics as a city councilor.

He retired in 1921 because of an eye problem, but was still represented on the supervisory board of Friedrich Krupp AG until his death .

The cameraman and television presenter Jan Thilo Haux (1919–2001) is the son of his eldest son Walter Haux.

Honor

Hauxplatz in the Margarethenhöhe district of Essen is named after him.
