Albin Ernst Voigt (born March 1, 1845 in Zwickau , † February 21, 1886 in Dresden ) was a German lawyer and national liberal politician .

Live and act

Voigt studied law at the University of Leipzig from 1862 to 1866 . During his studies in 1862 he became a member of the Leipzig fraternity Germania . After taking his law university examination in July 1866, he entered the civil service . First he was a trainee lawyer and then from 1872 an assessor at the District Court of Leipzig . In August 1871 he passed his second state examination in law. In 1875 he took up the post of mayor of Mittweida , which he held until 1881. In Mittweida he sits down u. a. for the construction of the parks at the technical center and at the Schwanenteich. As early as August 7, 1887, the citizens donated a stone-fixed medallion with the face of Voigt, which is located in front of today's Alfred-Udo-Holtz building of the university . Then he was mayor of the Erzgebirge mountain town of Annaberg until his death , where he became the founder and first chairman of the local history association in 1885. From 1885 until his death he represented the 19th urban constituency in the second chamber of the Saxon state parliament .
