Ernst Wendel
Ernst Wendel (born March 26, 1876 in Breslau ; † May 21, 1938 ) was a German violinist and conductor .
For one season, Wendel was concertmaster of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Theodore Thomas in 1896/97 . From 1909 to 1935 he was general music director of the Bremen Philharmonic State Orchestra . As a violinist, he taught Georg Kulenkampff . In 1914 he conducted in Stuttgart and in 1925/26 the museum concerts in Frankfurt am Main . In 1913 he led the 9th Symphony of Anton Bruckner for the first time in Russia on. He shaped the music in Königsberg .
Wendel was born with the concert pianist Ilse Wendel. Wolde , married. His younger son was the set and costume designer Heinrich Wendel (1915–1980).
