Ernst Willi Hansen

Ernst Willi Hansen (* 1944 in Schleswig ) is a German historian .

Life

After graduating from high school in 1965 at the cathedral school in Schleswig and doing military service ("SaZ-2"), he studied history, political science and sociology in Hamburg from 1967 to 1974 (graduating with a doctorate in philology with a thesis on the economic mobilization preparations of the Reichswehr 1923–1932). From 1975 to 1977 he was a research assistant at the Professorship for Early Modern History at the University of Hamburg (Chair Rainer Wohlfeil ). From 1977 to 2009 he was a research assistant at the Bundeswehr University in Hamburg ; In addition to teaching in the field of modern history and the interdisciplinary “EGA course”, since 1989 also head of the “EGA center” and in this role also responsible for organizational issues related to the course.
