Ernst von Grünigen (born March 23, 1950 ; † June 1992 ) was a Swiss ski jumper .

Career

Von Grünigen jumped at the Four Hills Tournament between 1970 and 1977 . He made his debut on December 30, 1970 in the opening competition of the Four Hills Tournament 1970/71 in Oberstdorf . Despite good results, he was never able to jump into the overall ranking of the tour. In 1972 he was nominated for the Olympic Winter Games in Sapporo and reached 16th place on the normal hill and 44th place on the large hill. He achieved his best result with 6th place in Garmisch-Partenkirchen on January 1, 1976. Because of this result, he was again for the 1976 Winter Olympics in Innsbrucknominated and surprisingly reached 5th place on the normal and 23rd place on the large hill. After the Four Hills Tournament in 1976/77 he ended his active ski jumping career.
