Ernst von Werthern

Ernst Heinrich Dietrich Georg Karl Freiherr von Werthern (born October 16, 1841 in Haus Broel near Soest ; † September 5, 1916 in Lippstadt ) was a German administrative officer and manor owner.

Life

Ernst von Werthern was the son of Gottfried Freiherrn von Werthern (1804–1869) and Charlotte Freifrau von Werthern, nee. Smiths (1805-1880). He studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1862 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . After completing his studies, he initially took up a career as a judge and became a district judge in Duisburg . He then switched to administrative service. From 1875 until his death in 1915 he was district administrator of the Lippstadt district .

Von Werthern was the owner of the manor house Broel in Welver near Soest and owned shares in the salt works in Bad Sassendorf .
