history

The district, also known as I. Friedrichshammer, which consists of only a few houses, was laid out in 1777. It was planned as an extension of the Mägdesprung iron and steel works for fresh hearth and bar production and served as the location of a hammer mill . The name Friedrichshammer refers to the founder of the works, Prince Friedrich Albrecht von Anhalt-Bernburg . The hammer master's house , a farm building and workers' houses from the 19th century have been preserved in the village . The hammer master's house was later used as a school. In addition, there is also the vaulted hammer moat, which was built in 1822, with an upper grave gate and mouth holes that were renewed in the 1950s. The original hammer building no longer exists and has been replaced by a turbine house made of bricks .
