Erwin Juergens

Erwin Juergens (born February 22, 1895 in place near Heide (Holstein) , † August 27, 1974 ) was a German politician ( DP , later CDU ).

Life and work

After attending secondary school, Jürgens trained at commercial and agricultural schools and worked as an import and export clerk in Hamburg until 1939 . During the Second World War he was a soldier. Since 1946 he was a farmer in his home town. He was a board member of the Norderdithmarschen district farmers' association . Jürgens was married and had three sons.

Political party

Jürgens was originally a member of the DP, which he left on April 15, 1952. On January 30, 1953, he joined the CDU.

Jürgens was a member of the district council in Norderdithmarschen.

Jürgens was a member of the state parliament in Schleswig-Holstein from 1950 to 1967 . He represented the constituency of Norderdithmarschen in parliament. From 1950 to 1954 he was deputy. Secretary of the Landtag. From 1958 to 1967 he was deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group in the state parliament. The Landtag elected him a member of the third (July 1, 1959) and fourth (July 1, 1964) federal assemblies , which elected Heinrich Lübke as Federal President .

Public offices

From April 6, 1953 to April 28, 1967, Juergens was parliamentary representative of the Minister for Food, Agriculture and Forests in Schleswig-Holstein.

Honors

On April 11, 1967, Jürgens was awarded the Grand Cross of Merit of the Federal Cross of Merit.
