Erwin Straus (composer)
Erwin Straus (born April 5, 1910 in Vienna , † December 28, 1966 in Munich ) was an Austrian composer.
Life
Erwin Straus, son of the composer Oscar Straus and the singer Clara Singer, was a concert pianist and composer in Vienna and later in Monaco . The texts for his operettas were often written by his half-brother Leo Straus (1897–1944), who was deported with his wife to Theresienstadt in 1942 and murdered in Auschwitz in 1944 .
Occasionally Straus also composed hits and worked for the cinema; so in 1931 he wrote the music for the film The Naked Truth by Karl Anton .
