The Archdiocese of Suiyuan [Hohhot] ( Latin Archidioecesis Soeiiuenensis ; Chinese 綏遠,呼和浩特 ) is in the People's Republic of China Located diocese of the Roman Catholic Church and Metropolitan seat.
Under Pope Pius IX. the Apostolic Vicariate of Southwest Mongolia [Mongolia Occiduo-Meridionale] (Chinese 西南 蒙古) was founded on December 21, 1883 out of the Apostolic Vicariate of Mongolia (Chinese 蒙古). The first episcopal vicar was the Belgian Alphonse de Voss CICM . Under Pope Benedict XV. The Vicariate Apostolic Ninghsia was founded in 1922 in part of the area ; the rest of the Apostolic Vicariate of Southwest Mongolia was renamed the Apostolic Vicariate Suiyüan [Hohot]. By Pope Pius XII. was raised on April 11, 1946 the vicariate to today's Suiyüan ( Hohhot ); first archbishop was Ludovicus Morel CICM.
The suffragans Ningsia [Yinchuan 寧夏], Siwantze [Chongli-Xiwanzi 西 彎子] and Tsining [Jining 集 寧] are assigned to the archbishopric .

As a result of the persecution of the Roman Catholic Church in China, Auxiliary Bishop Leon Yao Liang died in 2009 , who had been imprisoned for over 28 years.
