The archeparchy Erbil ( Latin Arbilensis Chaldaeorum ) is the Roman Catholic Church Uniate Chaldean Catholic archeparchy based in Erbil , Autonomous Region of Kurdistan , Iraq . The diocese was founded on March 7, 1968 from the Archdiocese of Kirkuk , founded in 1789 .
