Espen Hoff (born November 20, 1981 in Larvik ) is a Norwegian football player . The offensive player, who made his debut for the Norwegian national team in 2005 , won the Norwegian Cup in 2000 and has so far played over 200 games in Norwegian professional football.

Career

Hoff played for Sporty IL and Larvik Turn in his youth . In 1999 he joined Odd Grenland . In the team that moved in the midfield of the Tippeligaen , he established himself as a regular player. In 2000 he managed to win the Norwegian National Cup with the club. In the league, he was distinguished by consistency and reached the limit of one hundred first division games at the age of 21 - as the youngest player in the history of the league to date. Hoff in Lyn's jersey

As a new national player, Hoff attracted the attention of the competition and moved to FC Lyn Oslo in April 2006 . At the start of his first season with his new club, he was initially only used as a substitute, but was able to establish himself as a regular in the team over the course of the season. With the club he also appeared on the international stage when the team in the first round of the 2006/07 UEFA Cup on Flora Tallinn met. He was used in both games, but could not prevent the team from being eliminated in the first round after a 1-1 and a 0-0 draw against the Estonian team due to the away goals rule .

At the side of Chinedu Obasi , Hoff was also one of the club's regulars in the following season and after the end of the season led the club's internal goalscorer list with six goals this season. This feat he succeeded in the 2008 season by scoring ten of the club's 38 goals this season. Not least because of this accuracy, he was named Player of the Year by the Bastionen fan group in the 2007 and 2008 seasons .
