Esperantology

The Esperanto studies is the philology of Esperanto , so that part of linguistics that deals with this language is concerned. The speaker community and Esperanto literature are also dealt with.

Founded in 1887 , Esperanto spread around the world until the beginning of the 20th century, when the scientific study of this language began around the 1920s and 1930s . The most famous Esperantologists include Eugen Wüster , Gaston Waringhien , István Szerdahelyi and Detlev Blanke . Esperantological topics can be found in the journal Language Problems and Language Planning and in Esperantologio .
