Detlev Blanke

Detlev Blanke (born May 30, 1941 in Neumünster ; † August 20, 2016 ) was a lecturer in interlinguistics at the Humboldt University in Berlin .

Life

After studying and working as a teacher of German and geography, he received his doctorate in 1976 and completed his doctorate in 1985 . He founded the Society for Interlinguistics and was its chairman from 1991 to 2011 and then its honorary chairman. He was particularly interested in the linguistic investigation of the development process from language project to language, especially using the example of the planned language Esperanto , terminological and sociolinguistic issues. Among other things, he has dealt with the work of Eugen Wüster for the international standardization of terminology and the role of Esperanto in the labor movement of the 20th century.

From 1970 to 1990 he was editor of esperantist , the Esperanto magazine published in the GDR . From 1968 to 1990 he was also secretary of the Esperanto Association in the Kulturbund of the GDR ; From 1990 until the union with the German Esperanto Association in 1991 he was deputy chairman of the Esperanto Association.
