Esther Valentin

Esther Valentin (* 1993 in Heidelberg ) is a German concert singer with a mezzo-soprano voice .

biography

Esther Valentin is the daughter of the soprano Eva Lebherz-Valentin and the music teacher Michael Valentin. She first played the cello, then also the trumpet and discovered classical singing through lessons with her father and from 2011 with the soprano Monica Pick-Hieronimi . From 2012 to 2018 she studied singing with Mario Hoff at the Cologne University of Music and Dance . In addition, she received artistic impulses from Brigitte Fassbaender , Graham Johnson , Benjamin Appl , Thomas Quasthoff , Wolfram Rieger , Michael Gees , Axel Bauni, Ruth Ziesack , Stefan Irmer, Birgit Remmert , Klesie Kelly-Moog, Dalia Schaechter, Renée Morloc and Christine Oelze .

As a lieder singer, Esther Valentin maintains a varied repertoire from all stylistic epochs from the Viennese classic to contemporary works. With the pianist Anastasia Grishutina , she has formed a lied duo since 2016, which was given the opportunity to record its debut CD Amors Spiel through its success at the Dortmund International Schubert Competition in 2018 and which the Südwestrundfunk is promoting from 2019 to 2022 as part of SWR2 New Talent . Even as an interpreter of orchestral songs they appeared on the scene, such as a performance of Richard Wagner 's Wesendonck Lieder with the Folkwang Chamber Orchestra Essen in February 2020th
