Esting is a district of the municipality of Olching ( Fürstenfeldbruck district ) in Bavaria . The former community was incorporated into Olching in 1978.
history
Esting is mentioned for the first time between 793 and 806 in a Maisach deed of gift in the traditions of the Freising Monastery . In the 12th century the gentlemen “de Ehstingen” are mentioned and probably owned Esting until the 14th century. Esting Castle is mentioned in 1568 as "nobilis domus" by Apian and was destroyed in 1704 in the War of the Spanish Succession by the troops of the Duke of Marlborough. The castle was rebuilt by 1764. The community Esting was formed in 1818 by the Bavarian community edict. In the 20th century, the population center shifted from the old village center to the up-and-coming residential area of Neu-Esting. Although the merger with Olching in Esting and the neighboring Geiselbullach met with little approval from the residents, it was completed on May 1, 1978. The city survey of Olching took place in 2011. As of January 1, 2019, Esting had 1,976 and Neu-Esting 4,475 inhabitants.
