The Esting Castle is a castle in Esting in the town of Olching in the Fürstenfeldbruck district in Bavaria .

history

In the 12th century the gentlemen “de Ehstingen” are mentioned and probably owned Esting until the 14th century. Esting Castle is mentioned in 1568 as "nobilis domus" by Apian and was owned by the von Preysing family in the 16th century. The gatehouse was probably renewed in the 17th century and the castle was renewed around 1698/1700 by the merchant Johannes Senser, the tenant of the state tobacco monopoly. Shortly thereafter, the castle was destroyed in the War of Spanish Succession in 1704 by the troops of the Duke of Marlborough. It was rebuilt by 1764. In the 18th / 19th In the 19th century the castle district was walled. Around 1919 there was a Gothic-style expansion.

The castle is a listed building (number D-1-79-142-4) and is described as follows:

  • Residential building, two-story freestanding plastered building with stepped gable , the core around 1700, gothic extension probably 1919
  • Vorwerk with castle chapel , gatehouse and tower, end of the 16th century, painting of the blind arcades and gatehouse by Karl Sonner , 1924; with equipment
  • Former castle economy, two-storey plastered building with stepped gable, 1st half of the 19th century
  • Walling of the castle district, probably 18./19. century
