Geiselbullach Castle Estate

The Geiselbullach Castle is a castle in Geiselbullach in the municipality of Olching ( Fürstenfeldbruck district ) in Bavaria . Today it serves as a manor and is privately owned.

history

Bavaria's Elector Max Emanuel gave his court chamber councilor Johann Adam Geisler a large area in the corridor at the “Buelach” (probably meaning a beech forest) near the Amper for management and also awarded him the title of nobility from Geiselbullach . Geisler built a castle with a fenced-in park, a large chapel in honor of St. John Nepomuk and houses for dependent "Gütlers" and craftsmen. Frequently changing successors probably lacked the skill for the management of the estate. Only Alois Sabbadini , a businessman from Udine , seems to have had the necessary economic flair. During his time, the tower of the chapel was built in 1816, which a former owner of the castle, the court painter Johann Adam von Schöpf , had painted in the finest Rococo. In 1891 Adolf Scheller bought the castle, which burned out in 1894. In 1895 today's castle was built. In 1918, the Raadts family, who came from Hungary, acquired the castle property. Ernst Raadts turned it into a model company. In 1947 he was incidentally district administrator of the district of Fuerstenfeldbruck. The castle has been owned by the Stürzer family since 1964, and they have extensively restored the property. The former castle chapel St. Johann Nepomuk now belongs to the city of Olching and was renovated in 2017.
