Ethereal Pandemonium was a pagan metal - band in 1996 in Bratislava , Slovakia was established and disbanded of 2008.

history

In 1996 the four musicians Vidar ( guitar ), Nathuruss ( vocals , bass ), Daemonic (guitar) and Beherit ( drums ) founded the group Tombfield. Marcelle was later joined by a singer.

In the spring of 1997, however, she left the band again and Vidar changed the name of the band to Ethereal Pandemonium , which the band still carries today. Her first appearance in the RockPopJazz Club in Bratislava followed in May . At the end of the year Beherit left the band and Demorgogon, who had meanwhile joined the band, replaced them on drums. De Sade Soliloquay took on the backing vocals, the female upper voice was Countess Ekorn until the turn of the millennium. In December of the same year work began on her debut album A Winter Solstice Eve at the IRS Bernolak Studio in Bratislava a week before Christmas.

In March 1998 the album was released on Dark Night's Sky , which was directed by Darkoldus. Darkolus became a band manager a short time later. Herr Doktor joined the band in March as the second guitarist.

Exactly a year later, the band released their second studio album called Arcanum Lunae . In autumn the Czech label Leviathan Records asked to produce the album for the Czech market as well. The band accepted the request and produced the album.

In the spring of 2000 the album was finally released in both Slovakia and the Czech Republic . Countess Ekorn left the band after a disagreement between her and some of the band members. A short time later the band decided to play their concerts with Corpsepaint .

A year later, Nathuruss announced that he wanted to leave the band after the release of their third album. Vidar became the singer of the band. In September the band began recording promo CDs and shipping them across Europe to receive offers from foreign labels, but they didn't succeed. The band was housed in the Moonset Studios when recording.

In 2002, Zuzanna joined the band as the lead singer. Until June the band worked on their third album. The album was recorded in collaboration with Dark Night's Sky and Esprit Records . The album is called jesus.christ@hell.com . In addition, she made her first music video for the song Wisdom .

In 2003 not much happened in the band. Wlad became bassist for the band and De Sade Soliloquay left the group.

Two years after the release of their album jesus.christ@hell.com in Slovakia, the album was produced by the Russian label CD-Maximum for the Russian market. It also includes the music video for Wisdom . The album was released in Russia that same year .

In 2006 Demorgogon and Wlad left the band, but Nathuruss rejoined the band and became bassist. Their fourth album was also released in 2006. It's called "Lost'n'Sound". The artwork was designed by Nenad Brankovic. Zuzanna and Vidar became parents of their son Tomas. Lost 'n' Sound is the last album that the band produced so far. This was produced by KRV Records .

In 2007 the band took a break because they couldn't find a drummer. A year later, Doctor Ethereal left Pandemonium after 10 years with the band. With Tibor ( drums ), Jano ( bass ) and Lubos ( keyboard ), however, new musicians were found in 2008 to strengthen the band's line-up. Nathuruss left the band again. Only two years earlier he had returned to Ethereal Pandemonium as bass player.

In 2009 the band announced on their Myspace profile that they wanted to produce a 5-track EP, which should be ready in October 2009 and which will contain two cover versions. However, this has not yet been published.

style

The band was originally part of the pagan metal scene, as the first texts dealt with various deities in Norse mythology, among other things. Some songs also praised nature . But plays such as William Shakespeare's Macbeth were also sung.

From 2000 the music was oriented towards black metal , the band wore corpsepaint at their concerts and sang about Greek and Roman gods such as Venus and Adonis . But anti-Christian themes were also found in some pieces. In the song Expressionism: Razorblade from the 2006 album, Jesus is insulted as an " asshole ".

Over the years, elements of Gothic and Death Doom have crept into the band's musical style . The singing between Zuzanna and Vidar changes constantly. The melody of the instruments also changes depending on the song. It can also happen that the rhythm changes several times during a piece. In addition to hard guitar sounds, there are also calm and ballad-like parts.

The pieces are written by Vidar in both English and Slovak , some songs contain passages in both English and Slovak.
