Ethics and the military - controversies in military ethics and security culture is a bilingual e-journal for current ethical topics from military ethics , security culture and international law. It addresses security challenges for armed forces and society. Authors from science, politics and the military such as Ronald C. Arkin , Karl Müllner , Stefan Oeter and Götz Neuneck ( BSI President Michael Hange in an interview) each critically examine a current topic of military ethics.

The magazine is a free, non-commercial, journalistic-editorial, digital offer of the Center for Ethical Education in the Armed Forces (zebis). The zebis is an institution for ethical education in the armed forces. It was built on behalf of the Catholic Military Bishop for the German Bundeswehr at the Institute for Theology and Peace (ithf).

The English version of the journal appears under the title Ethics and Armed Forces and ISSN  2199-4137 .

The e-journal is published by the Center for Ethical Education in the Armed Forces (zebis) in cooperation with scientists. The editor-in-chief is Veronika Bock. The editors are Veronika Bock, Thomas Elßner, Alexander Merkl, Johannes J. Frühbauer, Fred van Iersel, Andreas Bock The so-called Advisory Board includes Bernhard Koch, Josef König, Angela Reinders, Cornelius Sturm, Kristina Tonn, and Lothar Bendel.
