Ettore Lorenzo Frapiccini
Ettore Lorenzo Frapiccini (born November 17, 1957 in Buenos Aires ) is an Italian engraver and medalist .
Career
Ettore Lorenzo Frapiccini was born the son of a painter in Buenos Aires and has lived in Italy since 1964. After attending a state art school, he studied temporarily at a university and from 1979 to 1981 at the Scuola dell'Arte della Medaglia - Giuseppe Romagnoli of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato . After completing his training, Frapiccini initially worked as an engraver for Emilio Senese in Milan and Picchiani & Barlacchi in Florence. Since 1984 he has worked at the Istituto Poligrafico in Rome . There he was responsible for the design or engraving of numerous coins. A design by Frapiccini that is also known outside of Italy is the face of the Italian euro coins at 5 cents with the Colosseum in Rome. For the Italian mint , Frapiccini also designed many editions of the San Marinese and Vatican euro coins .

- Commemorative brass coin worth 200 lire on the occasion of the centenary of the Lega Navale Italiana (reverse, 1997);
- Aluminum bronze commemorative coin worth 200 lire for the 30th anniversary of the Comando carabinieri per la tutela del patrimonio culturale (back, 1999);
- Face of the Italian euro coin at 5 cents (since 2002);
- Engraving of the face of the San Marino euro currency coins (2002 to 2016, based on designs by František Chochola );
- 2 euro commemorative coin from San Marino for Bartolomeo Borghesi (2004);
- 2 euro commemorative coin of the Vatican City for the XX. World Youth Day in Cologne (2005, based on a design by Daniela Longo);
- Engraving of the face of the euro currency coins of the Vatican City for 5 cents and 1 euro with the coat of arms of Camerlengo Eduardo Martínez Somalo (2005, based on a design by Daniela Longo);
- 2 euro commemorative coin from San Marino on the occasion of the 200th birthday of Giuseppe Garibaldi (2007);
- 2 Euro commemorative coin from San Marino for the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue (2008);
- 2 euro commemorative coin for the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy (2011);
- Silver commemorative coin worth 5 euros from the Italia delle Arti series (2016).
