Ettore Lorenzo Frapiccini

Ettore Lorenzo Frapiccini (born November 17, 1957 in Buenos Aires ) is an Italian engraver and medalist .

Career

Ettore Lorenzo Frapiccini was born the son of a painter in Buenos Aires and has lived in Italy since 1964. After attending a state art school, he studied temporarily at a university and from 1979 to 1981 at the Scuola dell'Arte della Medaglia - Giuseppe Romagnoli of the Istituto Poligrafico e Zecca dello Stato . After completing his training, Frapiccini initially worked as an engraver for Emilio Senese in Milan and Picchiani & Barlacchi in Florence. Since 1984 he has worked at the Istituto Poligrafico in Rome . There he was responsible for the design or engraving of numerous coins. A design by Frapiccini that is also known outside of Italy is the face of the Italian euro coins at 5 cents with the Colosseum in Rome. For the Italian mint , Frapiccini also designed many editions of the San Marinese and Vatican euro coins .
