Ettore Pinelli (born October 18, 1843 in Rome ; † September 17, 1915 there ) was an Italian violinist and conductor .

Life

From 1864 Pinelli studied violin with Joseph Joachim in Hanover . In 1867, together with Giovanni Sgambati , Tullio Ramacciotti and Ferdinando Forino, he founded the Società Romana del Quartetto , a chamber music association based on the Milanese model, and in 1874 the Società orchestrale romana , which he directed for a quarter of a century. In 1877 he became a professor at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia .

Pinelli also worked as an editor.

Works

Pinelli left a symphony , a string quartet , an Italian rhapsody and various songs.
