Euadne (daughter of Poseidon)
Euadne ( Greek Εὐάδνη ) is in Greek mythology a daughter of Poseidon with the laconic heroine Pitane , daughter of the river god Eurotas . She grew up near Aipytos on the Alpheios . It is possible that she was also his daughter in an original version of the legend. Secretly impregnated by Apollo , who was attracted by her beauty, she gave birth to Iamos . As she was ashamed of this pregnancy, she left the newborn child among violets in a bush, where it was fed with honey by snakes. Equipped with the vision of Apollo, Iamos was the founder of the Iamiden, a family of priests in Olympia .
