Eugène Faure
Eugène Faure (born July 14, 1822 in Seyssinet-Pariset , † December 24, 1878 in Bourg-Saint-Andéol ) was a French genre and nude painter.
First he studied sculpture in Paris with François Rude and David d'Angers . But he decided to paint and studied it in Charles Gleyre's studio .
After graduation, he settled in Grenoble as a freelance artist, painting portraits, genre scenes, allegories and nudes. He was with the painters from the École dauphinoise , u. a. Jean Achard and Théodore Ravanat are friends.
Today his paintings are mainly kept in the Musée de Grenoble. A street in Grenoble bears his name.
