Eugène Lintilhac
Eugène Lintilhac (born January 5, 1854 in Aurillac , † July 16, 1920 in Neuilly-sur-Seine ) was a French Romance scholar and politician.
life and work
Lintilhac, who lost his parents at an early age, passed the agrégation in Lettres in 1881 , taught at high schools in Paris and completed his habilitation in 1887 at the Sorbonne with the Thèses Beaumarchais et ses œuvres. He became maître de conférences at the Sorbonne , but then embarked on a political career, was head of the cabinet of the education minister Georges Leygues , radical socialist deputy (from 1905 president) of the département parliament in the département Cantal and from 1905 until his death senator of the Third French Republic . He was a Knight of the Legion of Honor .
