Eugen Müller (Cistercian)

Eugen Hermann Müller OCist (born December 1, 1934 in Pethau in Zittau ; † May 30, 2013 in Lilienfeld ) was an Austrian Cistercian, prior of Lilienfeld Abbey and librarian .

Life

Hermann Müller was born in Saxony as the son of the master carpenter of the same name. After school he worked as a craftsman in the Cistercian Abbey of St. Marienthal . Through his acquaintance with the Cistercian Bruno Heinrich , who was formerly an apprentice in his father's carpentry workshop, he went to Austria in 1954 at the age of twenty, where he was picked up on the route by Heinrich on a motorcycle. Like Heinrich, he attended the advanced high school in Horn and was probably dressed at Lilienfeld Abbey after graduating from high school in August 1960 . He studied theology at the University of Salzburg and was ordained a priest in 1966 in the Melk collegiate church by Nuncio Opilio Rossi . In Lilienfeld Abbey he was the office director, novice master , master of temporary professions, librarian and archivist. From 1975 he was subprior and subsequently - from 1986 to 2005 - prior.
