Eugene M. Dombois
Eugen M. Dombois (actually Eugen Müller , born November 15, 1931 in Gadderbaum - Bethel , today Bielefeld , † May 9, 2014 near Basel ) was a German - Swiss lutenist .
Life
Eugen Dombois was born as the son of the educator Georg Müller . He first studied teaching German and music, then from 1955 to 1958 lute and guitar with Walter Gerwig in Cologne. He then became a lecturer at the North West German Music Academy in Detmold and at the same time successful as a performing artist. After finishing his active music career, he went to the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in 1962 at the suggestion of Paul Sacher . There belonged, among others, Jürgen Hübscher , Paul O'Dette , Rolf Lislevand , Hopkinson Smith , Christina Pluharand the German lutenist and teacher Stefan Lundgren to his students.
