Eugen Roth (born December 4, 1957 in Illingen ) is a German trade union official and politician ( SPD ).

education and profession

Roth passed his Abitur in 1977 at the Illtal-Gymnasium Illingen . Then he was hired in the police force of the Saarland. From 1982 to 1984 he attended the University of Applied Sciences for Administration of the Saarland (Department of Police Enforcement Service).

Roth has been chairman of the DGB regional district of Saar in the West district since 1998 .

politics

Roth joined the SPD in 1994. In April 2000 he was elected deputy state chairman.

Roth has been the deputy chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in Saarland since 2012

From 1999 to 2014 Roth was a member of the Merchweiler municipal council . The Landtag of Saarland is one of Roth since the thirteenth session of (2004). There he is a member of the European Committee and the Committee on Economics, Labor and Mine Safety .

Private

Roth is a Roman Catholic, married, has a son and lives in Merchweiler. Since 2011 he has been president of the Saarland handball association .
