Eugen Wolff (District Administrator)

Eugen Otto Leo Wolff-Gorki (born March 18, 1859 in Jellen ; † April 10, 1926 in Berlin-Charlottenburg ) was a German administrative officer, manor owner and member of parliament.

Life

Eugen Wolff studied law at the Ruprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg . In 1879 he became a member of the Corps Guestphalia Heidelberg . After completing his studies and doctorate as Dr. jur. In 1883 he became a government trainee with the government in Opole . In 1887 he became a government assessor with the government in Düsseldorf . In 1889 he was appointed district administrator of the Mogilno district . When he spoke out politically against the construction of the Mittelland Canal in 1899 , he was put into temporary retirement as a so-called canal rebel . Since then he has focused on the management of his Gorki estate . After the First World War he lived in Berlin-Charlottenburg until his death .

Wolff sat from 1899 to 1918 as a member of the Conservative Party and a member of the constituency Bromberg 5 (Mogilno, Wongrowitz, Znin) in the Prussian House of Representatives . From 1916 he was a member of the board of directors of the Prussian Central Cooperative Fund .
