Eugen von Bassus

Eugen Freiherr von Bassus (born July 27, 1838 in Augsburg , † July 30, 1894 in Sandersdorf ) was a large Bavarian landowner.

Life

Bassus came from the noble Italian Graubünden family who came to Poschiavo in the 14th century and to Bavaria in 1611 . His parents were the chamberlain and landowner Maximilian Freiherr von Bassus and his wife Eugenie Freiin von Schnurbein .

Eugen von Bassus passed the Abitur in 1858 at the grammar school near St. Anna (Augsburg) . He enrolled at the Ludwig Maximilians University of Law and became active in the Corps Franconia Munich on December 9, 1858 . He was born on July 25, 1859 recipiert and on March 11, 1861 philistriert . Since his father died early, he soon took over the management of his extensive estates. He became district administrator of the Upper Palatinate district . As a chamberlain and later as a royal Bavarian chamberlain, he lived at Sandersdorf Castle in summer and in Munich in winter . He died of a stroke while hunting and was buried in Munich.

He was married to Charlotte born in 1868 . Countess von Berchem at Hofhegnenberg Castle in Middle Franconia.
