Life and education

Manolides received her first piano lessons at the age of five. In 1994 she finished her first piano studies at the Johann Sebastian Bach Conservatory in Athens . She then began postgraduate studies at the renowned Juilliard School in New York City . There she studied composition and orchestration with Daron Hagen , the American soloist Julie Jordan and Vincent La Selva , who later became director of the New York Grand Opera . She graduated from the Royal Conservatory in Brussels in 1998 with the conductor Robert Janssens .

Eugenia was married to the painter Theodoros Manolides , 37 years her senior . In 2002 the couple separated after 7 years of marriage. She is currently married to the publisher, former health minister and current opposition leader of Greece, Adonis Georgiadis . The wedding took place on June 22, 2009. She is the mother of four children.

TV career

From March to June 2010 Manolides was a participant in the first season of Dancing Stars (Greece). She was eliminated in the semifinals but received mostly positive reviews regarding her performance.

In late 2010 sparked Manolides the popular Matthildi Maggira as a jury member of Ellada Eheis Talento (Greece Super Talent ab). In 2011 she took over the moderation of the successful TV cooking show MasterChef , an adaptation of the British original on the TV channel Mega .

In 2013 Manolides was to become a member of the jury for the Greek version of DSDS . However, this collided with an alternative offer from Antenna TV . There she moderated the nationwide much noticed and discussed reality show Hour of Truth , which is roughly similar to the German jungle camp . The main topic of public discussion was the situation of hosting such a show and being married to Georgiadis , one of the country's most influential politicians. This is considered to be strictly Orthodox-conservative and was spokesman for the Laikos Orthodoxos Synagermos until August 2007 . When asked in an interview with Ethnos TV magazine , Manolides made a controversial statement, namely that she would rather clean the house herself than attend the moment of truth as a participant.
