Euregio via salina

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Euregio via Salina is a transnational European region founded in 1997 . It includes the communities along the old salt roads that led from the natural rock salt deposits (mostly in Austria) to Venice in the south and to the Allgäu to the west. The term Via salina was recently chosen according to the naming scheme of the old Roman roads - a historical street name from Roman times is not known.

Contract partners of the Euregio via salina are the Regio Allgäu eV , the regional development company Ausserfern and the Regio Kleinwalsertal / Bregenzerwald . The Euregio has 124 municipalities as members, the districts of Lindau , Oberallgäu and Ostallgäu , the independent city of Kempten (Allgäu) and the Reutte Chamber of Commerce in Tyrol .
