The Eurohafen Emsland is an inland port between the cities of Meppen and Haren in the Lower Saxony district of Emsland , created through inter-municipal cooperation . The port is designed as a dock to the Dortmund-Ems Canal and is connected to the communal industrial area between the districts of Meppen-Hüntel and Haren-Emmeln.

The port area covers an area of ​​around 42 hectares. The total cost was around 21 million euros. The construction took place in three phases. First of all, the branch canal was built with a turning basin and three berths. In the second section, the connection to the Münster - Emden railway connection ( Emsland route ) came. In the third construction phase, additional berths with quays were created.

The Eurohafen Emsland was inaugurated on October 24, 2007.
