Map of Fraser Island showing Eurong

Eurong is a place in the Parish of Poyungan on Fraser Island in Queensland , Australia . During the 2016 census, there were 78 people living in the Eurong, of whom around 60 percent were male and 40 percent were female.

There is an information center for the Queensland Parks and Wildlife Service , a police station, a hotel complex, a campsite, a holiday complex, a gas station with a shop and bakery and a car repair shop. With the large tourist resort and the other infrastructure, Eurong is the main town on the island.

The small settlement is located on the east bank of the island directly on the long beach. Eurong can be reached from the landing stages of the ferry boats on the west coast via unpaved roads and at low tide from the landing stage at the south end of the island via the beach. Air Fraser flies regularly in small aircraft from Hervey Bay and Maroochydore  to Eurong, landing on the beach. The road is paved in the resort, where there is also a shop and gas station. Most of the houses are located south of the resort, the police station and other houses a little further north. Like all settlements on Fraser Island, Eurong is surrounded by an electric fence that keeps dingoes out of the residential area.
