The Europahalle is one of the largest tennis halls in Europe and is located in the 23rd Viennese district of Liesing .

history

Indoor tennis courts

The Europahalle was built in 1985 by Herbert Haas (* 1932 in Erdberg ). The capacity utilization of the Haas Hall in Vösendorf, which was built in 1980, was the decisive reason for the construction of the Europahalle.

In October 2012, the entire hall system was equipped with LED light technology . The climate is relieved through efficient use of energy.

In the 2012/13 season Austria's largest tennis winter cup with 106 participating teams took place in the Europahalle. At this tournament all games were recorded in the ITN skill level system.

In addition to 13 indoor tennis courts, the hall includes six golf simulators, two tees, a golf lover, putting green, four badminton courts, a tennis school, a restaurant and a massage area. Guests in the hall included Franz Vranitzky , Horst Skoff , Björn Borg , Hubert Neuper , Thomas Muster , Jürgen Melzer , Roman Kienast and Andreas Herzog .
