The Europe Place is one of the belebtesten places in the Karlsruhe city center .

Europaplatz has had its name since 1979, before it was called Hauptpostplatz and before that it was called Lorettoplatz . From 1925 to 2010 the Leibgrenadierdenkmal in memory of the Baden body grenadiers was located on the square . Europaplatz is flanked by the Karlsruhe main post office building, which was built in 1900 in a neo-baroque style and which now houses the Postgalerie shopping center . On the opposite side, the former Schneider department store (later Breuninger ) and a cinema dominate. From Europaplatz, the Karlsruhe pedestrian zone stretches east along Kaiserstraßeacross the market square to Kronenplatz .

Europaplatz is a large tram junction of the KVV , where the tram lines 1, 2, 3, 4, 6 and the tram lines S1 / S11, S2, S5 and S52 meet.

At the beginning of 2010, construction work began on the combination solution .
