European Business Register

The European Business Register (EBR) is a cooperation between several commercial registers in Europe that has existed since 1992 . At the beginning of 2016, 28 European countries took part in the EWC.

The European Commission supports the measure to reduce bureaucracy and in particular the development of a multilingual common interface. Organizationally, there is a certain similarity with the Europe-wide land register network EULIS .

Scope of information

Nationally, the amount of information provided in the EWC differs considerably and is low in Germany and Austria , for example . This is considered to be one of the reasons for the comparatively low use.
