European Federation of Taiwanese Associations
The European Federation of Taiwanese Associations ( EFTA ; Chinese 歐洲 台灣 協會 聯合會 / 欧洲 台湾 协会 联合会 , Pinyin Ōuzhōu Táiwān Xiéhuì Liánhéhuì , short 歐 台 會 / 欧 台 会 , Ōutáihuì ) is an association of various Taiwanese associations in Europe . The aim of the association is the cooperation of those associations and observation and support of Taiwan's development on an economic and political level. 謝偉 群 (HSIEH, Wei-qun), who lives in Germany, is currently chairman of EFTA.
publication
EFTA publishes statements on current events at irregular intervals, which are often used at the political level as an opinion-forming source for debates. An example is the July 2009 publication regarding the detention of former President of the Republic of Taiwan , Chen Shuibian .
