Eutaw is a city in Greene County , Alabama in the USA . The place is the county seat of Greene County and was named after the Battle of Eutaw Springs in the American Revolutionary War . Eutaw had around 1900 inhabitants in the United States Census 2000 and belongs to the Metropolitan Statistical Area Tuscaloosa .

National Register of Historic Places

Twenty-seven structures from the antebellum are on the Eutaw National Register of Historic Places , twenty-three of them as a collective entry. Coleman-Banks House , Greene County Courthouse , First Presbyterian Church and Kirkwood have individual entries . The Greene County Courthouse Square District is a historic district in the center of town. The nearby Twin Oaks Plantation is also listed in the register.
