Eutaw is a city in Greene County , Alabama in the USA . The place is the county seat of Greene County and was named after the Battle of Eutaw Springs in the American Revolutionary War . Eutaw had around 1900 inhabitants in the United States Census 2000 and belongs to the Metropolitan Statistical Area Tuscaloosa .

National Register of Historic Places
Twenty-seven structures from the antebellum are on the Eutaw National Register of Historic Places , twenty-three of them as a collective entry. Coleman-Banks House , Greene County Courthouse , First Presbyterian Church and Kirkwood have individual entries . The Greene County Courthouse Square District is a historic district in the center of town. The nearby Twin Oaks Plantation is also listed in the register. A total of 25 structures and sites in Eutaw are registered in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) (as of March 19, 2020).
Demographics
At the time of the United States Census 2000, Eutaw had 1878 people. The population density was 158.7 people per km ². There were 899 housing units at an average of 76.0 per km ². Eutaw's population was 33.01% White , 66.03% Black or African American , 0.27% Native American , 0.21% Asian , 0% Pacific Islander , 0% said they were of other races and 0, 48% named two or more races. 0.37% of the population declared to be Hispanic or Latino of any race.
The residents of Eutaws distributed to 778 households out of which 24.7% were living in children under 18 years of age. 39.5% of households were married, 21.5% had a female head of household without a husband and 35.1% were not families. 33.5% of households were made up of individuals and someone lived in 15.4% of all households aged 65 years or older. The average household size was 2.31 and the average family size was 2.95.
