Eva-Maria Förtsch

Eva-Maria Förtsch (born January 15, 1951 in Schlegel ) is a German psychologist and politician of the PDS / Die Linke . In 1990 she represented the PDS as a member of the People's Chamber .

Life

Förtsch was born Eva-Maria Krüger in Schlegel, Saxony, in 1951. After attending school in Leipzig and Erfurt, she graduated from high school in 1969 with professional training as a nurse . She then completed a degree in social psychology at the Friedrich Schiller University Jena , which she graduated with a degree in psychology . Förtsch then worked until December 1990 in health facilities in the Bad Salzungen district , most recently in the Bad Liebenstein hospital , as a psychologist. After the federal election in 1990 she found a job as a research assistant in the PDS parliamentary group until 1994. Subsequently, Förtsch worked again in Bad Salzungen, the center of her life, until 2010, where she initially worked in the insurance industry and later in the field of job placement. She then returned to her old job and has since been employed as a senior psychologist at the Asklepios Burgseeklinik in Bad Salzungen.

Political career

Förtsch joined the SED in 1969 and remained a member of the successor parties PDS and Die Linke. At the first free Volkskammer elections on March 18, 1990 , she stood in the Suhl constituency in second place for the PDS. Since the party was able to win exactly two seats in this constituency, Förtsch moved into the People's Chamber as a PDS deputy. In the PDS parliamentary group she was a member of the parliamentary group executive committee. Before the dissolution of the People's Chamber, Förtsch was elected as the successor candidate for the 144 People's Chamber members who were accepted into the 11th Bundestag . But she was no longer a member of the Bundestag. After the dissolution of the People's Chamber, Förtsch represented the PDS / Die Linke as a city councilor in Bad Salzungen until 2009 . In the Thuringian state elections in 1994 , she ran as a direct candidate in the constituency of Wartburg District I , but had no chance there.
