Eva Buchmann

Eva Buchmann (* 1982 in Hulst , Netherlands) is a Belgian jazz singer and composer .

Career

Buchmann studied jazz singing at the Royal Conservatory Antwerp from 2003 ; She completed a year abroad at the Jazz Institute Berlin in order to complete her master’s degree in 2008. Then she perfected her vocal training at the Complete Vocal Institute in Copenhagen. During her studies, she had the opportunity to that of Peter Herbolzheimer led European Yamaha Big Band to work; she also performed with Pierre Van Dormael's a cappella project Connected to Hope .

Together with the Swiss vibraphonist Sonja Huber , she formed the duo Lottchen , which has released three albums so far. With the singers Iris Berardocco and Sara Raes as well as a rhythm section she founded the swing band The Jacquelines ; Sony released their album Gee Oh Gee in 2013. With her bands she performs standards and her own pieces. She also worked with the Jack Million Big Band, the septet by Riaz Khabirpour and Heiko Bidmons Ballroom Club . She wrote the music for the short film Spaghetti (2016).
